Service Opportunities At Saint Andrew School
Saint Andrew School students demonstrate an awareness of blessings through volunteer service to school, family and neighborhood. They develop high self-esteem through sacrifice that is not focused on reward. They respect property, take care of their belongings and clean up after themselves. A Saint Andrew Student develops confidence through service for the greater good.
Feed My Starving Children
Our students help pack boxes of food to be distributed to those in need.
Bernie's Book Bank
Students assist with sorting of books to be hand delivered to children in need
Cradles to Crayons
Benefiting Cradles to Crayons, a non-profit created to provide children from birth through age 12 with the everyday essentials they need to thrive. Students collect personal items such as toothbrushes/toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, soap, and diapers.
Nursing Home Visits
Our students spend time at nearby nursing homes, reading with residents, sharing stories, and participating in simple activities. These meaningful moments foster compassion and teach students the value of building relationships within the broader community as they connect across generations.
Common Pantry
Saint Andrew School student council members sponsor a food drive benefiting those in need by collecting non-perishable food donated by students and families.
Night Ministry
Student council hosted a collection of socks for Chicago’s Night Ministry.
The Giving Tree
Saint Andrew Church and School collaborates with Saint Mary of the Lake and St. Thomas of Canterbury Schools to gift winter warmth items to help students ranging from Pre-K through 8th grade stay warm over the cold, winter, Chicago months.
