Meet the Advisory Board

The School Advisory Board serves as a vital partner in guiding the mission and vision of Saint Andrew. Composed of dedicated parents, alumni, and community members, the board provides insight and support in areas such as strategic planning, enrollment, finance, and development. Working collaboratively with school leadership, the Advisory Board helps ensure the continued growth and success of our school community.

DAN BANSLEY

Dan Bansley and his wife, Colleen, are parents of two girls currently in 7th and 12th grade (at DePaul College Prep) and have been part of the Saint Andrew community since 2006. Dan is an Account Development Specialist with Breakthru Beverage, where he consults with and distributes to restaurants and bars. He is a member of the Sports Council. He is a member of the Community and Campus Committee. His second term expires in June 2027.

ALLI DUFFY

Alli Duffy and her husband, Mike, are the parents of 4 children who have all attended Saint Andrew School since preschool. Their family has been part of the Saint Andrew community since 2010. Currently, they have one child in college, two in high school, and one in 6th grade. Alli has served Saint Andrew in a variety of roles, including chair of Christmas Shopping Days, parent ambassador, Wearin’ the Green, teacher appreciation, spirit squad coach, and room parent. Before raising her family, she worked as a national accounts manager in the insurance industry. Alli is deeply committed to her community and to the mission of Catholic education. She is a member of the Enrollment and Marketing Committee. Her first term on the board expires in June 2028.

KATIE Schwartzers

Katie Schwartzers and her husband Tom have two kids, one in junior kindergarten and a 2-year old. They have been parishioners since 2019. Katie currently works at a bank leading an audit team and has worked in the financial industry for 20 years in client servicing, middle and back office operations and project management. St. Andrew, she has been a room parent, volunteered at the book and bake sale, Wearin’ the Green and the garage sale. Katie is a member of the Enrollment and Marketing Committee. Her first term expires in June 2028.

BRIAN POKORNY

Brian Pokorny, and his wife Abby Lovett, have been parishioners at Saint Andrew for over ten years. Together, they are passionate about supporting local schools and helping create opportunities for all children to thrive. They have two children at Saint Andrew School, a daughter (Clare) in 6th grade, and a son (Tommy) in 4th grade. Brian brings a blend of business leadership, community focus, and marketing expertise to the school board. With a background in consumer marketing, he has helped shape strategies for nationally recognized brands before purchasing his small business, Floor Coverings International of Chicago North Side, in 2024. Brian is a member of the Enrollment and Marketing Committee. His first term expires in June 2026.

SANDRA VILLARREAL

Sandra Villarreal and her husband, Gabe, have been parishioners since 2008 and have a child in 6th grade, having joined Saint Andrew in Pre-K in 2017. Sandra has served Saint Andrew in many capacities, including lector, Christmas Shopping Days, Wearin’ the Green, Grandparents’ Day, Daddy/Daughter Dance, and as a room parent. Sandra is a Senior Brand Manager at Reynolds Consumer Products, leading sustainable tableware portfolios, and serves on the company’s Community Engagement Advisory Council. Sandra is chair of the Enrollment and Marketing Committee. Her second term expires in June 2027.

EMILY YOUNG

Emily Young has a son in 6th grade and is the owner of the 7-Eleven across from Wrigley Field. Emily has spent her career in retail leadership, holding executive roles in sales, operations, and project management. She has a strong commitment to community service, supporting the Chicago Police Department, the Chicago Cubs, and local charities, including service leadership at other local parishes and was previously a Saint Andrew School room parent. She is a member of the Community and Campus Committee. Her first term expires in 2027.

ZACK CHRISTENSEN

Zack Christensen and his wife, Geeta Malhotra, are parents of two boys in kindergarten and 3rd grade. They joined the Saint Andrew community in 2021. Zack chairs the Finance Committee and helps lead the Biddy Basketball program. Zack recently retired after more than 20 years in the financial services industry, most recently as Chief Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller of a large Chicago-based bank. He is the chair of the Budget and Finance Committee. His first term expires in June 2027.

RUSSELL HUXHOLD

Russell Huxhold and his wife, Nicole are school parents to Penn, a junior kindergartener. Russell also has a son and a daughter, both in college. He is currently a small business consultant after owning/operating a retail store on Southport Avenue for 5 years. Russell has volunteered for the Saint Andrew Fall Swing, coached bitty basketball and i9 soccer. He is eager to use his experience and problem solving skills to the Board where he looks forward to having more opportunities to serve. He is a member of the Enrollment and Marketing Committee. His first term expires in June 2028.

PATRICK MURPHY, AIA

Patrick Murphy and his wife, Maggie, are parents of 3rd and 5th graders and have been part of the Saint Andrew community for more than 10 years. He has co-chaired the Wearin’ the Green decorations committee and for the past 5 years has contributed to campus improvements. Patrick is a partner at Cook Architectural Design Studio and holds degrees in architecture and construction management. He is Vice President of the School Advisory Board and the chair of the Community and Campus Committee. His first term expires in June 2026.

RACHEL RIMSTIDT

Rachel Rimstidt and her husband, Derk, are school parents to a junior kindergartener. This is her first year on the board and has joined the Finance Committee. She has worked in accounting and finance for the last 15+ years. For the past 3.5 years, Rachel has moved from working in-house to a Senior Finance Consultant for a variety of national firms. She is very active at Saint Andrew School volunteering for the bake sale, fish fry, Scholastic Book Fair, and classroom parties. She is a member of the Budget and Finance Committee. Her first term expires in June 2028.

KATIE WOLF

Katie Wolf and her husband, Dan, are parents to a junior kindergartener and a 2nd grader. They have been parishioners since 2017. Katie has previously taught in suburban and Chicago schools for grades 4–8, with a focus on gifted and special education. She holds Illinois licensure in K–9 general education, PreK–12 reading specialist, and PreK–12 reading teacher. Katie brings her curriculum design and classroom experience to the Advisory Board. She is President of the School Advisory Board and is a member of the Enrollment and Marketing Committee. Her first term expires in June 2026.

PHIL ZEPEDA

Phil Zepeda and his wife, Patty Offer, are parents of a 6th grader. He and Patty have been part of the Saint Andrew community for more than 15 years. Phil leads communications at the NIU Foundation, and previously worked in leadership roles at Feeding America and the American Red Cross. He has served on the Board of Amate House, a ministry program of the Archdiocese of Chicago, and earlier in his career performed with The Second City in Chicago. Phil values the strength of the Saint Andrew community and seeks to leverage it for greater good. He is Secretary of the School Advisory Board and is a member of the Community and Campus Committee. His second term expires in June 2026.
