The days are getting longer, both in daylight and in the many things that occupy our time these busy days!
Thank you to our families who came in this week as part of our Early Contract Signing for our Transitions, Preschool, Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten Programs. Early Contract signing has been very effective at helping us to be able to offer seats in these programs to as many families as possible and cultivate a strong enrollment for the 2017/2018 school year. We are extending our Early Contact Signing for ECE Families to Monday for any who 'forgot' to come in and sign this week, after that we begin to offer seats from our wait list.
Teachers are busy in their classrooms preparing students for this year's Aspire Standardized Test. The Aspire Test will be offered the week of April 3, with make ups the following week. Scheduling the Aspire Test requires a coordinated effort from our teachers and we hope that our students are in good health during test week.
Thank you for the many compliments we received with regard to our campus protester visitors this week and your comments in support of our Teacher on the Trail, Ms. Kelley. We take the safety of each student seriously and it is always job one. Ms. Kelley has asked me to let your know how much she appreciates your support and your prayers!
Last Friday ended the Second Trimester. Report Cards will go home with the students on Wednesday, March 8. Please look for them.
Time is flying by and it is hard believe that Wearin the Green is next Saturday, March 4! Our annual fundraiser that retires operating deficits wherever they occur at Saint Andrew truly exemplifies the Spirit of Saint Andrew! This year's Fund A Need for Auditorium and Theater upgrades is generating quite a bit of excitement. We thank the World champion Chicago Cubs and Cubs Charities for matching up to $25,000 donations raised through Fund A Need at this year's WTG. Thank you to our hard working committee and this year's Chairperson, Kathy Stenander for the time, vision and coordination of WTG! We look forward to seeing you all at this great, time honored Saint Andrew event!
We are in the process of putting our Saint Andrew Summer Camp offering together! We expect publication on, or near March 1. Computer sign ups for Saint Andrew Summer Camps will begin at 10am on March 15.
We are preparing the school calendar for school year 2017/2018. As always, we vette this calendar with members of our our School Board and the full Board. School is scheduled to open on Monday, August 28 for grades 1st through 8.
It is playoff time for Saint Andrew Basketball Teams! This is always an exciting time of the year. We remind everyone to cheer for us, and not against our opponents. Saint Andrew has become known for their good sportsmanship and their Honor the Game attitude! Go Bulldogs!
This Wednesday is Ash Wednesday. Students will receive ashes after the 9am Mass. Parents are always invited to join us for Mass.
Help us finish the job, make it a good habit to attend Sunday Mass at Saint Andrew with your child/ren. The values taught everyday at school are reinforced at Sunday Mass.
Thank you for being a part of this Blue Ribbon School! AA
